Prescription Drug Take Back Event: Safely Dispose of Your Unneeded Medication

Manassas Park, VA – The City of Manassas Park is encouraging residents to take part in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 25, 2026, by safely disposing of unused or expired medications. This national initiative provides a responsible way to reduce the risk of accidental poisoning, prevent misuse, and keep medications from contaminating the environment.

The community can drop off prescription medications at:

Manassas Park Police Department
329 Manassas Drive
Saturday, April 25
10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

No appointment is necessary, and the service is free and anonymous. Accepted items include tablets, capsules, patches, and other solid forms of prescription drugs.

“Taking a few minutes to clean out unused medications can make a difference,” says Assistant City Manager Dustin Sternbeck. “It’s a simple action that helps protect households and supports the overall health of Manassas Park.”

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is led by the Drug Enforcement Administration and held in partnership with local law enforcement and community organizations across the country.

Can’t make it to Drug Take Back Day? The Manassas Park Police Department offers a permanent drug take-back box where community members can dispose of unwanted prescription medications 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with no questions asked in the lobby of the Police Station.
